Injury to K9 Felony bill signing - Ryan Furlong, Governor's Staff

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton signs a bill for HF 141-Injury to K9 Felony for doing either substantial or great bodily harm to a Police K9, also death, naturally, but the bill added levels of protection as death was already in the statute as a felony. This dog, "Major," is paralyzed and his back legs are in a cart.

From left, Officer John Jorgensen, a K9 Handler with the Roseville Police Department, Sen. Dan Hall (right behind the Gov w/ big smile), Rep. Tony Cornish and Sen. John Marty.

Rep. Cornish was the Chief Author in House. Sen. Dan Hall Chief Author in the Senate and Sen Marty a Co Author in the Senate.
