Snow squirrel - Wayne Comstock

A healthy squirrel stands on a crusted snow drift

next to his tunnel entrance and appears to be buttoning his coat.

Squirrels forage for food - Wayne Comstock

Our backyard squirrels are tunneling down to ground level through 4 foot of snow.
They are foraging for nuts and bird seed. Every so often they surface to
do a security check and then back down. The snow has crusted so they
travel freely about the snow covered yard.

Icicle - Charles Kotulski

It is a 6' 6" icicle. The top part broke off. So, in the picture it measures roughly 6' 3". My brother, Eddie Kotulski is standing next to it. He is about 6'. My little brother Sammy Kotulski is the other kid in the photo. I, Charles Kotulski took the photo. The icicle was taken down at my dad's clinic at Between the Bridges Healing Center here in Mankato on Monday, December 20, 2010.

Even the plows were getting stuck

Even snow plows had problems with Saturday's snowstorm. A North Mankato plow got mired down in deep snow along Page Avenue.
